MOTOBATT MB16AU
Rated 4/5 based on 1 reviews.Description
Designed specifically for the Australian Motorcycle Market. High load stresses are placed on your battery during the ignition cycle. Many motorcycles have hard wired headlights placing a lot of extra load on the battery. Motobatt’s internal innovative design has been manufactured to overcome this.
Claims are made by different manufacturers about cranking capacity. In fact there is little advantage to be had from a battery
that cranks harder than what is required to start your bike.
Battery design is always a payoff. The more cranking you have the less Amp Hour capacity you get, and vice versa. What is required is the ability for that battery to with stand repeated attempts to start your bike and how quickly it recovers.
For the trail riders that have just done a creek crossing and drowned their bike, the link can be made. Simply if you don’t get it started the first couple of goes, your battery will fail. The same is said for trying to start Big Twins and Road Bikes after short bursts of operation.

Very tight fit
By: ninjaneer on 15 February 2011Very happy to replace my '04 VMAX's dead batt with this maintenance-free, more powerful YB16ALA2 upgrade. The MB16AU's spec sheet has its width 1/2 a mm wider than the OEM. What's half a mm, right? Well let me tell you. With a little encouragement I was able to press it into the battery box. I couldn't replace my fuel filter with it in--the fuel filter needed to be in place first. Well as hard as I tried, the battery would not come back out. Oh well, I rerouted the fuel filter and buttoned her back up. The best thing is that I didn't have to fill it up or charge it--just put 'er in and go. The bike starts up a lot easier, but I don't know what I'm going to do when it comes time to replace the battery.
