Fitting Instructions - Please read before purchasing

Please note: We strongly recommend our Quick Release Racing Fuel Caps be fitted by a qualified mechanic. We will not be held responsible for fuel caps that leak fuel due to improper fitment/sealing. ALWAYS test your fuel cap for proper fitment/sealing BEFORE you take it out on the track.

Please note: Our Quick Release Racing Fuel Caps breath through the centre filler cap, a small amount of fuel may be seen in this area if you run a full tank. This is not much more than a slight damp patch on the inside of the centre cap, and for this reason we recommend not filling your tank past 90%. If you are seeing large amounts of fuel coming out, especially from the outside ring of the fuel cap, then your cap has not been fitted/sealed properly and needs to be corrected immediately.

1. Our Quick Release Racing Fuel Caps come with several rubber washers of varying sizes; these can be used either stacked together or singularly. They are used to make sure the fuel cap has a nice tight seal against the lip/ring of the fuel tank. You will need to select the correct thickness or amount of washers to use so that the outer cap tightens up nicely with the allen screws supplied and the rubber washers seal tightly, and the cap is not sitting proud. If you don't use the correct size/amount of rubber washers, the cap will not seal and fuel will escape past the washers and spill out of the outer ring of the fuel cap when the bike is in motion.

2. Some bikes have breather/vent holes that connect up to the factory fuel caps. You can spot these usually between the sealing ring of the fuel tank and the outer ring of the fuel tank. Our Quick Release Racing Fuel Caps do not require the use of these breather/vent holes as they breathe via the centre cap, so you will need to plug these breather/vent holes to prevent fuel leaking out of the outer ring of the fuel cap.

We recommend removing your factory fuel cap and inspecting it prior to purchasing one of our Quick Release Racing Fuel Caps so that you can determine what will be required for proper fitment before you buy.

Please note: These Fuel Caps are designed for racing purposes. When racing, fuel tanks are rarely filled past halfway, and as such fuel does not get a chance to flood the cap. As a street application these caps are fine, but overfilling your tank can cause the cap to bleed a small amount of fuel around the quick-release mechanism. If you are planning to use one of our race caps on a street bike we advise not filling your fuel tank past 90% full.
